Ok this week we downed Amber Shaper, yay! But this is what you really want, the guild lottery!!!
Here's how it's going to work. Since this is a special lottery, there will be winners, no carry over. Pick numbers between 1 and 10,000. Each number is 100 gold. You can send as many numbers as you want or can afford. The draw will be on New Years Day (check the calendar). The three closest numbers to the drawn number will win. In the unlikely event of people choosing the same number and winning, there will be a roll-off. The prizes are as follows:
Third Place: Sand Scarab Pet loot code
Second Place: Eye of the Legion Pet loot code
Grand Prize: Panderan Fire Spirit & 75% of the gold potThe remaining 25% of the gold pot goes to the gbank. For the two TCG Loot card pets, you are responsible for figuring out how that works. If you can't figure it out, the lottery officals are not responsible for lost pets. ;P
But most importantly... send your numbers and gold to Prizeman in game!!
-

What is 2%? Two percent of a kilometre is 20 metres. Two percent of a can of coke is 7.1 millitres. Two percent of a year is 7.3 days and 2% is the amount of health that Hardcore Pwnography had left on the Amber Shaper before wiping epically Sunday evening. Next week, that Amber Shaper will no longer be shaping his Amber no more!!!
The big news this week, is that the guild lottery will be returning for Christmas. That's right, there will be a super Christmas Lottery with prizes and gold galore! Look out for a post this week detailing the contest... You could be a winner!!!!

It's been a super busy time for me! (but at work..) :-( So I missed an update, but here it is, right at you, mid-week This week in Sinister Intent! Hardcore Pwnography had a moment, as several raiders were booted off the control panel in Elegon's room and through the hole like contraption to earn that strange achievement! Jaceno captured it on film, and was supposed to send it to me for the title photo, but he didn't, so instead you get a photo of the Goldshire Inn at Moonguard (and I think this was an off-peak time too). I would advise going there yourself, you have been warned!!
Balls or GTFO welcomes several new team members to it's group! Looks like the group is very solid, and solid progression will be the result! Thursday also yielded results for Hardcore Pwnography, as the Windlord went down right as beserk, only a lone warrior tank and a ghost angel priest were left at the end, but the boss went down 4 seconds past enrage! Congratulations to everyone on recent progression, keep it up!

It's that time again, when the denizens of Azeroth polish their swords and shields, and head out to slay as many delicious turkies as they can! Blizzard celebrated their 8th anniversary of WOW by sending us a letter that talked about Deathwing and an item that gives us a next to useless buff. You would think that right after a major expansion, they would hype up their anniversary a little? Just a little? Oh well, there's always next year, maybe they'll give us a packet of seeds. :D
Hardcore Pwnography continued their progression march. Easily handling Elegon again, the team worked on the Will of the Emperor fight and downed it after 7 or so good attempts. Excellent work. Also of note from MSV, the team also managed realm second on the achievement It's Getting Hot in Here! Congrats! And to top off Sunday, the mad king bug of tornadoes was twisted up, as the team defeated Blade Lord Ta'yak! Looking forward to more progression next week, as Garalon was brought to a scant 19%! Good Luck!
-

After battling through Elegon, Hardcore Pwnography walked into the Will fight and one shot it on Thursday night! Mogu'Shan Vaults is now cleared! Congrats all who participated; Heart of Fear is next.
-

What a great progression week!
Balls or GTFO pressed forward and brought both Gara'Jal and the Spirit Kings to their knees. The group is now 4/6 and looking ahead to more boss kills!
Meanwhile, Hardcore Pwnography's work on Elegon paid off on Sunday night with a fine kill of that sparkle dragon. Transition phases had been an issue, but once we figured out to kill the pylons more or less at the same time, it really decreased the AOE and let us get good inroads into the final burn phase. As a bonus, the group also earned the Straight Six achievement. Moving onto the Will of the Emperor fight, the group saw good progression on the first few wipes, getting them down to 9%.
Congrats all on a great week!

Got my video recording working again. The inaugral video this tier is Gara'Jal. In this video, we two healed the boss and it seemed to go pretty smoothly. One thing I get asked about a lot is Power Auras. In the new version, I find the aura's a lot more tedious to setup, but there is a great degree of customization that you can do. As you watch the video, you'll see various auras in the middle of my screen to primarily indicate when an ability is off cooldown. For example, the golden ankh to the top left of my toon is telling me when Prayer of Mending is ready as it should always be used off CD. For the priest-curious, I have similar auras for Cascade, Circle of Healing, Mindbender, and Hymn of Hope. I should really have ones for Lightspring and Divine Hymn as well.
Particularily Divine Hymn, as I caused a wipe in the first guy of Heart of Fear by not realizing Divine Hymn was still on CD when the first round of bubbles came up. So, get those aura's going, essential for any raider. :)
-

Things are in full swing! Raid bosses are dying all over the place and purple loots are finding their way on to our heroic toons bodies! This week the Heart of Fear opened and many of us spent many hours on the first boss which we will call the RNG master. This included Hardcore Pwnography, and after many wipes with mind control before bubble phase, he finally went down and it was glorious! The group then worked on the second tornado boss, and got him to phase 2, good work all!
Balls or GTFO also experienced great success downing the first two bosses in MSV! They also decided to dip their toes in Heart of Fear and they are beating that RNG guy up right now!
The first tier of any expansion can certainly be a grind, so thanks all for sticking it out and contributing to our progression!

Better late than never right?? Lots of news on the raiding front! Our late night group, Balls or GTFO, successfully notched their first kill as the Stone Guardians were shattered to pieces, congratulations! Meanwhile, Hardcore Pwnography, vanquished Feng, Gara'Jal and the Spirit Kings last week and started to make the first inroads on Elegon. Looks like raiding is well underway, thank you to everyone who is participating and helping with progression!
In other news, I forgot to mention something very note worthy a couple weeks back when MOP launched. Our one and only Jive made a mad dash towards level 600 Engineering and managed to snag Realm First Engineer! Stand up job!
Until next week..!
-

MSV raiding is offically a go! Hardcore Pwnography (Core 1) made good progress into the raid. The Stone Guardians were shattered once more, and on Sunday, the raid destroyed Feng and unbound Gara'Jal after recovering from a harrowing 1% wipe. Excellent work to the team, we look to progress even more next week! The late night core will be starting next week as well, and still needs 1 healer. If you are interested, please contact Lynzee.
Continue those rep grinds, shiny purples await you!
-

Time to start raiding!! Core 1 (Hardcore Pwnography) dipped it's toes into the Vaults on Monday night, sucessfully shattering the Stone Guardians. The group is eager to delve even deeper into the Vaults next week! Lynzee's group and Moyst's group will also be starting up soon. If you are looking for a raid position, let them know as they may be looking to fill a few of the last spots.
LFR also opens this week, so in addition to leveling, rep grinding and getting those prof's up, everyone can start to experience the Vault fights and get a feel of raiding in MOP. Cheers for this week!
-

Mist of Pandaria is finally upon us! The first few toons are dinging 90 and starting the beginning of xpac gearing up process. Thank you to all who made the guild a success during Cata. Many achievements were had and memories were forged through the tears of heroic wipes. For MOP, we are trying to get three raid teams going, please see the below post for recruitment details. The Raid Leads are Erroxious, Lynzee, and Moyst. Our officers are Lynzee, Erroxious, Ekwinox, Pwnzu, and Decadence. If you have any questions, please talk to one of us. :) Eventually, we will also be starting up a Saturday alt run, once the alts make it through the 85-90 slog.
Here's to all that MOP has to bring! Cheers!

Jaina fell to hundreds of Horde in Orgimmar, Putricide's green slime became unsuckable, rabbits became huge turtles with axes in their mouthes, and the fabled frost mage made an appearance in a raid! Yes, the start of patch 5 hit us this week, with add-on breaking force! The guild raided on Tuesday anyways, testing out the new play styles and the 100k mana pools. Decadence finally obtained the life-binders, congrats! On Sunday, the group helped Xoxaine and Luco gather the last blood's they needed to start off the Shadowmourne quest and prep for 5 manning ICC 25 in MOP!
There are a ton of new people in the guild, and for them, a few notes:
1. Our guild is extremely active in our Mumble server, especially during prime time. If you haven't downloaded Mumble yet, please do so and come join us! We be having a leveling party the night of the 24th/morning of the 25th and would love for you to join us.
2. There will be a guild photo on Sept 18th at 8:05 PM server. Come join us to mark the end of the expansion with a group shot!
That's it for this week, 3 more weeks until Panda land!
-

Well, this is it, its the end of the World... of Warcraft Patch 4.3!! As a mage, we say goodbye forever to such tasty spells as flame orb and mana shield. But we do get to mimic other people's appearances (yay) every 30 minutes (boo).
Anyways, four more weeks until the expansion, and this coming week heralds the pre-patch. It will be interesting to see how the changes pan out in heroic DS and we will hopefully get a good taste of how raiding will be in MOP.
News this week; no-one won the lottery and the current pool is your share of 34.6k + Sand Scarab TCG Loot Pet + Lil'XT Pet (donated by Gollums, thanks!) + some minor bonus prizes. Make sure to get your numbers into Prizeman, the draw is tomorrow! Arkhenos was the lucky recipient of the Lifebinder's this week. On Sunday, the group decided to take a romp in BWD, downing several fights on heroic and gaining a snazzy (albeit brief) title shown in this week's graphic. The next week should be interesting! Let's see how it pans out...
-

One hundred gold to the first person who posts the odd thing about this week's graphic!
I'm back! It's been a busy end of summer, but looks like business was nicely handled while I've been preoccupied with weddings, concerts and football games. :) Looks like we right until Sept 25th when MOP launches to farm Heroic Madness for mounts, good news! This week, Heroic Madness went down with a few first timers participating in the kill. Congrats to Imp, Rainclouds and BTMagee on their shiney new titles!
I also heard the mount came down to Ark and Eq facing off for the ultimate prize. Several contests of strength and wit were applied to see who would be the final winner, but after Eq fashioned a Kobold whistle made entirely of cake and summoned the great Koblad Shaman Klublalu (who was incidentally Lupan's mentor) and danced a drunken jig while juggling cats; it was clear she was going to be sole champion for this week. Congrats!!
MOP is coming soon and raid teams will be forming up shortly after. If you have a desire to raid, please review our times and let one of the officers (Lupan, Pwnzu, Rainclouds, Erronious, Ekwinox) know what you would be interested in!
-
No, no not the last week of Sinister Intent, but rather the week before this one, which I didn't do a "This Week." And the reason I didn't because I was away! But yes stuff happened and if you're curious where I was, see the above video, I'm sure some of you will recognize the track, crazy! (also, my skill at holding a camera still in a club is about 2/525) :P
-

Fifty ones days until Mists of Pandaria! As the expansion enters it's twilight, the guild still kept itself very busy this week! The big news this week is certainly the guild lottery which is presently sitting at 23,000 gold + a Sand Scarab TCG Pet Loot Code. The stakes are high, so get your numbers (1-200) into prizeman; 100 gold per number! In the event of a tie, the pet goes to the highest roller of all entries which had the winning number!
Hardcore Pwnography squeeked out a full clear of Heroic Dragon Soul on Tuesday, once again getting lucky with two mount drops. The heroic mount going to Kuroth and Ekwinox getting in the low roll for the win on the Blazing Darke. Congrats!! A second group made its move into Heroic Dragon Soul on Thursday sa well, getting up to Heroic Spine and making good progress getting up to the third plate. In addition, several more regular and pug runs were run throughout the week, thank you to everyone who takes part and keeps our guild community strong. :)
Finally, on Sunday, the group that has been working on Heroic Sinestra finally got that dragon to lose her green health bar, crowning those who participated with the covetted titled of Dragonslayer! Thank you again to everyone who took part, and Heroic Ragnaros looks to be our next loose end to tie up pre-MOP.
-

The big news this week was MOP's release date; September 25, 2012 we will invade the land of the Panda's and drink all the ale in their panda fridges. The week started off with a big lottery for the much sought after Guardian Cub. The big prize went to Monkeyhunter along with a 12,500 gold which was split with Ekwinox. Look for a big prize coming up in future lotto's!
Hardcore Pwnography continued to clear out heroic DS this week with Lupan the lucky winner of the drake! Nightshift Core will be undergoing a restructuring and will become a Wednesday only more casual run until MOP arrives. It will be on hiatus for this week and start up again on Wednesday the following week (August 8th).
Finally, the Retro Raid made it's foray into AQ10, downing the first four bosses, check out the video of the Buru kill below. Eight weeks to go until MOP!!
-
The Retro Raid made its initial push into AQ10 last night lead by the brave tanks Tinq and Blasster. Part of the fun was not knowing what each boss would do. But even going in blindly, the first two bosses went down without a hitch. The third boss summoned mana adds which one shot us all. We weren't quite sure what to do there, but burning the boss dead and screaming a bit seemed to help. The fourth boss, Buru the Egg Gorger proved to be a little more difficult, see the results below... and if you watch the whole video you get a musical treat at the end!
-

Time marches on, and we are another week closer to the inevitable release of MOP and what an eventful week this was! Hardcore Pwnography succesfully cleared Heroic Dragon Soul in one night for the first time. They were rewarded for their efforts with not just the heroic mount but also the blazing as well! They hope to repeat the success (and luck) this Tuesday and perhaps go for another record time. :)
The Night Shift group also past a milestine by downing Heroic Warmaster. After a few good nights of grinding and progressing, the big loud tauren finally bit the dust.
With the extra time this week, the guild set about to clean up some old achieves, storming through Heroic BOT all the way to phase 3 Sinestra. Next Thursday, look for that guild achieve popping up on your screens.
Two final notes; Duroth was the lucky winner of Tuesday's lottery, netting him 12,075 gold! This weeks lottery pool is currently sitting at 5400 gold plus a Guardian Cub. Send your numbers (1-200) to Prizeman, 100 gold per number and that Guardian Cub could be yours. Finally, there have been some promotions within the guild leadership. Pwnzu and Ekwinox have taken up position as Soul Reavers (Co-GM), and Lupan has taken over the reigns of Guildmaster. Here's to the continued success of Sinister Intent as we head into the twilight of Cataclysm!
-

Patience paid off as the Night Shift core downed Heroic Warmaster Thursday night. Congrats to all who participated, the kill was well deserved and now we can look ahead to Heroic Spine!
-

A low key week after that tremendous madness kill! Thought I would take time to advertise the guild lotto that happens every Tuesday. The rules are simple, you choose a number or a bunch of numbers between 1-200 and for each number you choose, send it and 100 gold per number to Prizeman. Every tuesday a number is chosen as the winner and every one who selected that number wins the pot! (with 25% going to the guild bank). On some weeks, there might also by a mystery prize! So send your numbers and gold to Prizeman and good luck!
-

Once again, congrats to Hardcore Pwnography for their Heroic Madness Kill!! We spent some of the off time revisting Firelands completing up some meta's and even dabbling in a few T11 heroics!
A reminder to all Retro Raiding begins July 21st, please see the Retro Raiding page for more details. We are starting to fill up for AQ20, but we will be tackling 40 man raids in the future as well!
